The Oil & Gas Year Oman 2013
Oman’s hydrocarbons industry produced a record 1.24 million barrels of oil equivalent in 2012. The Oil & Gas Year Oman 2013 covers the enhanced oil recovery and foreign investment that made that success possible and is now giving the industry hope for the future.
The domestic stability of Oman makes it an attractive destination for investment, even if some of the measures adopted to ensure political calm through the Arab spring hurt the countries’ competitiveness. Higher minimum wages make oil operations more difficult though government assistance for small and medium sized enterprises is offsetting some of that and is the year’s focus of this TOGY book.
The book features extensive analysis and informative maps, which accompany interviews with the top names in Oman’s hydrocarbons industry. These are led by Nasser bin Khamis Al Jashmi, undersecretary at the Ministry of Oil and Gas; Raoul Restucci, managing director at Petroleum Development Oman; and TOGY Oman 2013 Man of the Year Simon Karam, chairman of the Joint Sectorial Committee for Omanisation in Oil and Gas.
