The Oil & Gas Year Abu Dhabi 2012
Abu Dhabi currently has close to one third of the Middle East’s largest oil and gas construction projects in the works. Enhanced oil recovery and innovative drilling techniques will be the champions in the bid to ramp up production capacity from already producing and mature fields up to 3.5 million barrels per day by 2017.
The $10-billion development of the Shah field’s sour gas will be a major contributor to the emirate’s effort to diversify its energy supply and electricity generation capacity, as will be the Shams 1 solar project and plans for a nuclear plant.
The Oil & Gas Year Abu Dhabi 2012 gives the latest overview over the changing dynamics in Abu Dhabi’s energy industry and national oil company ADNOC’s new partners in the upstream, downstream and engineering and construction sectors, as well as the development of local content in domestic energy-related industries.
